"The Perfect Sacrifice"

1 Corinthians 11 [page 1135-1136 in pew Bible] 

 

1. Remember the __________ and ___________ of Godly __________. 
(1 Cor. 11:1,2)

Romans 12:1-3a--Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will. For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought. 

 

2. Remember the importance of submission, ___________, authority and __________. 
(1 Cor. 11:3-16) 

Definition: Mutuality - interchangeable, complementary, joint, shared, belonging equally to each 

Ephesians 5:21,22--Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. 

 

3. Remember ___________ as you ____________ to others. 
(1 Cor. 11:17-22) 

Matthew 5:23,24--Therefore, if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled to your brother; then come and offer your gift. 

Mark 11:25--And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins. 

Matthew 6:14,15--For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. 

John 17:21--...that all of them may be one... 

 

4. Remember Christ’s __________ upon your life is ____________ by his ultimate ______________.

Exodus 12:14--This is a day you are to commemorate; for the generations to come you shall celebrate it as a festival to the Lord - a lasting ordinance.

  3. As you consider Jesus' sacrifice for you, what are you motivated to become and do? 
  4. Take some time right now to pray for the needs of those in your small group.
