TRUE COMMUNITY OFFERS 4 BLESSINGS:

1. We get strength for life's storms.

Ecclesiastes 4:9,10--Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their work: If one falls down, his friend can help him up. But pity the man who falls and has no one to help him up!

See also John 16:33; Lev. 19:18; James 2:8

Galatians 6:2--Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ.

2. We receive wisdom for making important decisions.

Proverbs 15:22--Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed. (See also Psalm 1)

3. We experience accountability, which is vital for spiritual growth.

Proverbs 27:17--A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

See also James 1:23-25; 1 John 1:7

4. We find acceptance that helps us repair our wounds.

Proverbs 18:24--A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.
