Psalm 19:1-4--The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands.
Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.
There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard.
Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.
Isaiah 40:26--Lift your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one, and calls them each by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.
THE NAMES OF GOD:
Adonai—Lord
or Master, denoting ownership. (Ps.
39:7; 54:4; 71:5; 73:28; 86:5; 86:12; 86:15; 140:7; Is. 6:8; Ez. 18:25; Luke
6:46)
Elohim—The
strong, Faithful One; the only true God. (Gen.
1:26)
El-Elyon—The
Exalted One and all others are below Him; the Most High God.
(Numbers 24:16; 2 Samuel 22:14; Ps. 18: 13; Is. 14:12-15; Daniel 7:27)
El-Olam—Eternal,
perpetual, everlasting: the Everlasting God. (Gen. 9:16; 17:8; 21:33; Ex. 40:15;

El-Roi—To
see, to perceive, understand, and know; the God who sees.

El-Shaddai—Most
powerful in strength; the Almighty God. (Gen.

Immanuel—God
with us. (Matthew 1:23; Gal. 4:4,5)
Jehovah—I
AM, or self-existence; translated as Yahweh or LORD. (Ex. 3:14,15; John 4:25,
26; 8:12, 28; 10:9, 11, 36; 15:1; James 1:17; Heb. 13:8)
Jehovah-Jireh—To
have regard for the one seen, to see to his every need with provision and care;
the Lord our Provider. (Gen. 22:8, 14; Heb. 22:17-19)
Jehovah-Mekaddesh—To
purify, cleanse, and sanctify unto God; the Lord who sanctifies. (Ex. 13:2; Lev.
19:2; 20:7, 8; 25:10; I Sam. 2:2; Ps. 103:1; Prov. 9:10; Is. 6:3; John 17:17;
Rom. 12:1; 1 Peter 1:15,16)
Jehovah-Nissi—A
banner set up on a high place in case of invasion, assembling the people for

11; John 3:14; 16:33; I Cor. 15:57; Eph. 2:8,9; 6:10-12)
Jehovah-Rohi—To
tend as one cares for sheep; the Lord our Shepherd. Is. 40:10,11; Ez. 34:11-16; Ps. 23:1,4; 139:2; John 10:11;

Jehovah-Raphe—Jehovah
who heals; God our healer. (Numbers

Jehovah-Sabaoth—An
army or warriors who stand and fight against an enemy; the Lord, the captain of

Jehovah-Shammah—There,

Jehovah-Tsidkenu—Righteousness,
rightness; the Lord our righteousness. (Deut
32:4; Psalm 89:14; 129:4; Jer. 23:5,6; 33:6-26; Dan. 9:7, 8; Acts 3:14; Rom.
3:20; 5:16-19; 6:11-13, 18; I Cor. 1:30; 2 Cor. 5:21)
1. God is our ultimate power source.
1 Chronicles 29:12b--In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.
Isaiah 40:21-22--Do you not know? Have you not heard?
Has it not been told you from the beginning? Have you not understood since the earth was founded?
He sits enthroned above the circle of the earth, and its people are like grasshoppers.
He stretches out the heavens like a canopy, and spreads them out like a tent to live in.
2. God is more powerful than anything in the universe.
God is more powerful than all the forces of nature.
God is more powerful than all the rulers on
the earth.
(Isaiah 40:15; Daniel 4:35)
God is more powerful than Satan and his evil
legions.
(Romans 16:20)
3. God is able to do more for us than we would ever need.
Ephesians 3:20--Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
God has the power to create anything from
nothing.
(Psalm 33:6-9)
God has the power to sustain everything He has created.
God has the power to judge sin and rebellion.
1 Chronicles 29:10, 11, 13--David praised the LORD in the presence of the whole assembly, saying,
"Praise be to you, O LORD, God of our father Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.
Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor,
for everything in heaven and earth is yours.
Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.
Jeremiah 32:17-19--Ah, Sovereign LORD , you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you. You show love to thousands but bring the punishment for the fathers' sins into the laps of their children after them. O great and powerful God, whose name is the LORD Almighty, great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to all the ways of men; you reward everyone according to his conduct and as his deeds deserve.
Psalm 33:6-11--By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
He gathers the waters of the sea into jars; he puts the deep into storehouses.
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him.
For he spoke, and it came to be; he commanded, and it stood firm.
The LORD foils the plans of the nations; he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.
